What's the real sun color? ما ‏هو ‏لون ‏الشمس ‏الحقيقي؟

 If you ask someone about the color of the sun, he will answer you without hesitation that it is yellow, and he may make fun of your intuitive question, but did you know that his answer is wrong? So what is the real sun color? And why do we see it in yellow?

إذا سألت أى شخص عن لون الشمس، فسيجيبك بدون تردد أن لونها أصفر، وربما سخر من سؤالك البديهى، ولكن هل تعلم أن إجابته خاطئة؟ فما هو لون الشمس الحقيقى؟ ولماذا نراها باللون الأصفر؟

 The original color of sunlight is white, as for the reason we see the sun in a yellow color during the day that tends to be red at the time of sunset or sunrise It is that the sun's rays pass through the layers of the atmosphere until it reaches us, and during the journey of sunlight through those layers, some short wavelengths of the blue and violet colors are dispersed, making the color of the sun that appears to us tends to yellow.

اللون الأصلى لضوء الشمس هو اللون الأبيض، أما سبب رؤيتنا للشمس بلون أصفر نهارًا يميل للحمرة فى وقت الغروب أو الشروق؛ هو أن أشعة الشمس تمر عبر طبقات الغلاف الجوى حتى تصل إلينا، وخلال رحلة ضوء الشمس عبر تلك الطبقات، يتم تشتت بعض الأطوال الموجية القصيرة للونين الأزرق والبنفسجى، مما يجعل لون الشمس الذى يظهر لنا يميل إلى اللون الأصفر.

ومع اقتراب الشمس من خط الأفق عند الشروق أو الغروب؛ تزداد نسبة تشتت اللونين الأزرق والبنفسجى، مما يجعل لون الشمس يميل للحمرة لتبدو بلون برتقالى.

 And we can infer this by seeing the sun images that were taken in outer space, far from the influence of the atmosphere, to find that the color of sunlight in the images captured over the International Space Station is white.

ويمكننا الاستدلال على ذلك برؤية صور الشمس التى تم التقاطها فى الفضاء الخارجى، بعيدًا عن تأثير الغلاف الجوى، لنجد أن لون ضوء الشمس فى الصور الملتقطة فوق محطة الفضاء الدولية هو اللون الأبيض.

 In addition to that, the white color of sunlight carries all the colors of the spectrum, or what we call the rainbow, which appears after rain.

بالإضافة أيضًا إلى أن اللون الأبيض لضوء الشمس، يحمل جميع ألوان الطيف، أو ما نسميه قوس قزح، والذى يظهر بعد هطول المطر.
